LeVoy Haight, chief operating officer of Sorenson Medical, has acquired broad experience and expertise during the course of his diverse career. Mr. Haight joined Sorenson Medical in 1998 as a project engineer, and has since served in roles of progressively greater responsibility-including director of R&D engineering, VP of marketing and business development, VP of reimbursement and compliance and COO. These experiences have provided Mr. Haight with extensive knowledge of the complex interactions between patients, physicians and insurers; of Sorenson Medical's technologies and capabilities; and the markets in which the company operates. Prior to his experience with Sorenson Medical, he worked at Eastman Chemical Company and Huntsman Chemical Company.
Mr. Haight earned BS degrees in chemical engineering and mathematics from Brigham Young University, an MS in industrial engineering from the University of Central Florida and an MBA from LeTourneau University.
Corey Collins Director of Operations
Corey worked for Sorenson Medical for four years as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager before becoming Director of Operations. His leadership role involves meeting company manufacturing goals for quality, cost and engineering as well as coordinating with Human Resources on personnel issues. Previously Corey worked for Global Media Concepts for two years, and before that he was a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Becton Dickinson Medical Systems for six years. Corey graduated from the University of Utah with a Mechanical Engineering degree.
Scott Gustafson Director of U.S. Sales & Marketing
Mr. Gustafson joined Sorenson Medical in 2005 as a Marketing Manager. He quickly moved to span both sales and marketing as he progressed up to his current position. Scott came to us from Merck & Company where he worked for five years in both sales and marketing capacities. Scott earned a BA degree in Economics from Westminster College, and an MBA in International Management from Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management.
Scott Parkinson Controller
Mr. Parkinson joined Sorenson Medical in 2007. During his first year at Sorenson Medical, Scott quickly analyzed and improved several department issues. In addition, he has provided good insight in planning the future of the company. Scott has an exceptionally strong background working as a controller and financial leader in manufacturing environments at companies such as Carbon Fiber Products, CDI Media, Arnold Machinery and most recently Zero Manufacturing. Mr. Parkinson acquired his BS degree and an MBA in Business from the University of Utah.
Kevin Gordon Director of Engineering & Technology Development
As director of engineering and technology development for Sorenson Medical Inc., Kevin Gordon directs the overall design and development for all of the Company's new and existing products. In this capacity, he leads engineering, product- and technology development activities, and is responsible for ensuring compliance with U.S. and international regulations and standards, and for maintaining Sorenson Medical's high internal standards for all products.
Mr. Gordon joined Sorenson Medical in 1999, and progressed from electrical engineer to engineering manager before assuming his current role.
Prior to joining Sorenson Medical, Mr. Gordon was employed at dbx Professional Products, where he served as power supply designer, engineering manager and project manager. Before his experience at dbx, Mr. Gordon was employed for more than ten years at HGM Medical Lasers, where he worked in both digital and analog design and was responsible for system design and managed the electrical engineering group.
Marko Van Amen Director of Regulatory Affairs & Quality Assurance
Mr. Van Amen joined Sorenson Medical in 2007 as a Sr. Quality Engineer and became a director the same year. Marko has over 16 years experience at a variety of organizations in quality assurance and regulatory fields; 10 of those years were with medical companies such as Merit Medical and GE OEC Medical Systems. In addition to strong quality and auditing experience, he has worked with the FDA to assure compliance to Quality System Regulations (QSR) regulations and was the company representative for on-site audits by other government agencies. Marko received his BS degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, and became a Certified ISO 9000 Auditor through Perry & Johnson.
